See, I’m a movie fan and I love getting things for free… Who doesn’t? 
And I’ve seen people downloading movies since I was a little kid. Like since I got my first computer even.
I’ve been obsessed with downloading movies because I loved wathing them… But it’s not legal in my country anymore so I’ve actually stopped =(. But all this experience has led me to be able to share with you how it can be done… and it’s easy…
There are 2-3 different ways you can do it actually…
- ONE, is to use Torrents and torrent sites, which is considered hard for most people and that’s the reason I recommend this site (before it’s not availiable anymore).
Since this site provides training for a very cheap price and you easily “make your money back”, by not having to buy any more expensive DVD’s.
This also practically eliminates any guesswork in which the movie is good or bad etc.. Because most of the websites you’ll be downloading from have a forum built in you can ask if the movie is Good/Bad, rated, hated, downloaded etc.
- TWO. Is downloading from Peer-To-Peer programs such as LimeWire, which is a lot more easy if you are less technical. This is also shown how to do by this site.
- THREE. Is actually not getting your movies online to a harddrive of any kind, but rather getting them from sites such as veoh.com or joost.com, which host videos (more often than not illegally), where you also can watch series or videos etc for free.
These are the alternatives I’ve come to know and the ones that I find work best… If you want to download full DVD movies and stuff like that then #1 is the best route.
IF you are into downloading short clips and individual smaller videos that can be uploaded to YouTube or anything like that, you’ll want option #2.
If you are just a casual browser who doesn’t care if you actually keep the video or not then option #3 will be for you (even though some movies can be split into up to 12 shorter parts because of lenght of the movie..). You’ll get a LOT LESS quality with option #3 as it’s streaming video and notthing else.
If you are unsure what’s best for you then a one time fee over at this site is well worth it. The benefits of knowing how to download movies is HUGE. Never pay for any movie again (but remember it’s illegal and CAN get you in trouble, so I’m NOT recommending you download anything that’s copyrighted!)

I’ve done some research and seen that over 14,000 people are looking to learn how to fully download Full DivX Movies online, so I though I’d write a short article on how to do it… It’s hopefully informative enough and at the same time interesting to read…
In order find divx full movie downloads you will need a Peer-to-Peer program or something to download with… Personally, a favorite that has been used by me for years in order to download full legal divx movies online is called “uTorrent” (Micro Torrent) and can be found here -> uTorrent.
The you’ll need a download site for free movies… which is usually a torrent sites in modern day of age, (remember that torrents to which you DO NOT have copyright to is illegal to download!!) and some of the sites that are popular include:
- ThePirateBay
- Torrentz
- MiniNova
- Demonoid (actually has been closed down because of illegal activity :(, which is a HUGE loss for the community… </3 )
- and many, many more… (these are just the biggest sites that are free to use)
Other than these there are software such as KaZaa, LimeWire and iMesh that enable you to download Full DivX Movies.
After you have found a website you want to download from, ie, ThePirateBay. Your next step of the process is to search for a movie.
This is done in the search bar that is very similar to the download bar you see at Google.
After this you find a movie that has the word “DVDRip” or “DivX” or “XviD (another codec, similar to divx, but not divx), in the title of the movie. So for example a popular download may be “Cloverfield.DVDRip.XviD-DiAMOND”.
Do you see the “cloverfield.DVDRip” part?
This means that it’s most likely a high quality DivX or XviD movie in full lenght. (this is a movie that would be illegal to download, but it’s a 100% full DivX Movie download non-the-less.)
Currently at ThePiratebay, the movie says it has DP around 6,000 people, which means that Distributors = 6,000 people. This means that there are currently 6,000 people actively seeding this movie. (Seeding means uploading.)
You want this number to be as high as possible.
Next you’ll have to click the “Download this torrent” button in order to download the torrent.
You can either choose open with or save to your local harddrive, it doesn’t matter, because uTorrent will save the torrent in a temporary location anyway.
If unsure, just choose save to local harddisk.
Now open the torrent and choose the download location of the movie that fits your preference…
When it’s done downloading you may get it in .avi or tons and tons of packed .rar’s. If you get the DivX movie in .avi format you can play it with VLC Media Player instantly, and if it’s in a bunch of rar’s just download WinRAR to unzip the video in order to find the playable .avi file!

There are some sites that offer free movie downloads. But the most common way to download free movies is by using file-sharing programs, and this is considered the fastest and easiest way to download movies online.

The fact that the media is actively saying no to file sharing is practically encouraging MORE of it, so… there you go.
What is needed to play movie downloads?
Usually all you need are one or two programs… Many people like to use VLC media player for watching my videos that they’ve downloaded. This is because this program already has almost all the codecs in the world already integrated on download so you don’t need windows media player and the XviD codec, the DivX codec and the AC3 codec, which are otherwise required to play the videos. So download VLC media player for free instead, and skip all the hassle!

The most common solution is downloading another codec, upgrades or something else, to whatever program you are using…
What affects the quality of movie downloads?
The quality can vary tremendously, and the factor it depends on is the “source of the movie”, meaning where it came from. If it’s from a DVD expect a good quality video, if it’s around 700 mb with a good codec and “worse to bad” if it is filmed in a cinema or from a TV, etc. You want to either download full xvid or divx movies, or if you have faster connection, go for 4+ GB DVD images which guarantee both sound and video quality!
What size is a typical movie download?
Like I said, the sixe can vary, but it’s usually around 600-700mb in size per hour or sometimes an hour and a half. If the movie is longer it’s usually 1.2-1.4 GB and up to preserve quality.
How long does it take to download movies?
This obviously depends on your personal internet connection and the size of the movie. Like I, in Sweden download a full movie in under 5 minutes with my 24mb/s internet. Not everyone is that lucky and some only have 512kb/s internet or even dial-up.
If you download from a slow server or peer you’ll never download fast no matter how fast YOUR internet connection is, so if it’s slow for you it can be this factor.
